Why do I feel drained and irritable after listening to certain music or podcasts?
How can I keep my warrior chemistry strong after a long day at work?
What daily habits help me stay positive and connected with my family at home?

It is a sobering moment to be so specifically called out by a book! And how fortunate at the same time. Since reading this I have begun working on keeping that same warrior chemistry I have at work going after I get home.
It’s almost a type of endurance training! To do this I have learned that what I listen to at work has a MASSIVE impact on my emotional state at home.
For music, I really do enjoy the hard sounds of metal, and rock! While there is nothing inherently wrong with this, I am realizing that a lot of those songs I listen to have negative messages to them.
Mostly anger and distrust. Even certain podcasts which I find funny, but have crude humor can wear down those defensive chemicals. I do listen to a few faith based podcasts, which always uplift my spirit!
However, some days I find that I can only handle so much of that before wanting something that will get my blood pumping again.

In the morning, I will listen to spiritually uplifting media. This is either music, or podcasts. One truth I have learned, I NEED to start my day with God if I am to have even the smallest chance to overcome Satan.
Once I have had my fill of this, I allow myself to switch to more temporal entertainments. The most important rule here though, is that whatever I listen to cannot weaken my warrior chemistry!

How has this worked for me so far? The difference has been night and day! After listening to so much positivity, it truly has been easier to keep with those positive, motivating thoughts upon arriving home!
I find it much less frustrating to help clean, as I now see it for what it is. An opportunity to show my wife how much I love and appreciate all she does to be a good mother for our children. I find my time best filled as I make my kids laugh while we play or simply talk.
I still have a ways to go in mastering all that Men of Moroni has to offer. But this first step, learning how to fight for the little things, has my mind full of hopeful thoughts.
FIGHT!
