What is MAN PWR?
MAN PWR is a structured daily system of six goals designed to help you live with purpose, align with your values, and win spiritual and emotional battles. It’s built around two categories:
- M.A.N. – Goals focused on self-mastery and emotional connection
- P.W.R. – Goals focused on spiritual connection and personal revelation
Together, they form a powerful pattern of self-care and connection that helps you build the life you truly want.
M.A.N. Goals — Self-Mastery & Connection with Others
M = Minister (Meaningful Connection)
This goal is all about intentionally connecting with others in a way that builds empathy, love, and bonding. These actions increase oxytocin in your brain—the bonding chemical—and help heal the isolation that addiction thrives on.
Examples:
- Reach out to a friend or loved one
- Serve someone quietly and intentionally
- Have a vulnerable conversation
“Connection is the opposite of addiction.” – Johan Hari
A = Action (or Action toward a Passion Project)
This goal starts with building healthy daily routines—especially ones that get you moving and give a sense of accomplishment. Eventually, it evolves into meaningful work on a Passion Project using the DPAR (Discover, Plan, Act, Reflect) method.
Why it matters:
Action gives us a dopamine boost—the reward chemical—and builds momentum. Passion Projects eventually replace general action goals and become a vital part of graduation (vesting) requirements in recovery programs.
Examples:
- Exercise for 30 minutes
- Work on a personal project
- Start learning a skill
- Begin DPAR steps toward a Passion Project by sobriety day 56
N = No Goal (Set Boundaries)
This goal helps you avoid tempting or triggering situations. It’s about setting healthy boundaries that keep you far away from the edge of the cliff—not just trying to survive close to danger.
Examples:
- No social media after 10 PM
- No YouTube without a purpose
- No driving certain routes
- No deleting texts or clearing browser history
“The best way to stay out of a battle is to stay far from the battlefield.”
P.W.R. Goals — Spiritual Strength & Personal Revelation
P = Prayer
The goal isn’t just to “say prayers” but to engage in real, heartfelt communication with God. We can’t measure how “good” a prayer is, but we can set a trackable behavior that makes meaningful prayer more likely.
Examples of trackable prayer behaviors:
- Pray for 5 minutes using a timer
- Use the Warrior’s Prayer
- Pray aloud, kneeling
- Ask specific questions in prayer
“Exactly what do I need to do in order to be more prepared for the enemy?”
W = Writing
Writing helps slow your thoughts down, filter out lies, and bring your emotions into focus. It’s not just journaling; it’s about mindful, strategic writing that helps you process, plan, and receive revelation.
Examples:
- Write a letter to God
- Write to your future self
- Do a Lost Battle Analysis (Q5)
- Write down goals and reflect on progress
“Thinking is the battleground of Satan. Writing clears the battlefield.”
R = Reading
Reading good, inspired material is like adding Lego bricks to your brain—more pieces for God to work with when He’s helping you build your life. It brings the Spirit, reinforces your values, and gives you tools to fight your battles.
Examples:
- Scriptures
- General Conference talks
- Inspired books or podcasts
- Articles about recovery, identity, or purpose
“Seek ye out of the best books words of wisdom.” – D&C 88:118
Why MAN PWR Matters
Most people battling addiction or compulsive behaviors don’t just have a lust problem—they have a disconnection problem. They’ve lost touch with God, with others, and with their own identity.
MAN PWR goals help you reconnect—spiritually, socially, emotionally, and physically. They create stability, help you build Warrior Chemistry, and train you to win consistently.
Graduation/Vesting Requirements
To graduate from recovery programs like Men of Moroni or Sons of Helaman, you must meet 3 criteria:
- 84 days (12 weeks) of continuous sobriety
- Perfect MAN PWR streak for at least the final 28 days
(All six goals completed daily without a single miss. If you miss one, the streak resets.) - 28 days of Passion Project work using DPAR
(This begins by sobriety day 56 to allow time to complete 28 consecutive days before graduation.)
How to Set Your Own MAN PWR Goals
Keep them simple, trackable, and connected to your values.
| Goal | Example Behavior |
| M (Minister) | Text a friend with a sincere compliment |
| A (Action) | 30 minutes of exercise or Passion Project work |
| N (No) | No Instagram without a purpose |
| P (Prayer) | Pray aloud for 5 minutes using a timer |
| W (Writing) | Write one paragraph about your emotions today |
| R (Reading) | Read scriptures or a talk for 15–30 minutes |
Use a daily tracker and aim for consistency, not perfection. If you miss a goal, note it without shame and reset your streak. The goal is not to check boxes—it’s to stretch, grow, and reconnect.

Final Thoughts
You can’t change your life by willpower alone. You change it by training. MAN PWR is a spiritual training system that helps you realign your daily actions with the man you want to become.
It’s not easy, but it’s worth it.
“In coming days, it will not be possible to survive spiritually without the constant influence of the Holy Ghost.” – President Russell M. Nelson
